Description

The world is full of viruses that are biologically programmed to spread. Think about what causes viruses to spread and what humans can do to help stop the spread of a virus, so that we can avoid future pandemics.

Examine what we can do to learn from the past to help us make better choices as a society for the future.

Students will learn about how a virus spreads through an activity and viewing a simulation. They will research the 10 worst pandemics, including the current pandemic.  Using their research, they will create a timeline of the pandemics.  They will compare and contrast the current pandemic with a pandemic of the past, and they will create a newspaper with articles, images, maps, graphs and a cartoon to show what they learned.
