Looking for a fun Fall project and investigation for your students? The Haunted House Project contains high interest tasks that will engage students in hands-on inquiry and problem solving! Students will engage in high level thinking with area, perimeter, measurement, fractions, and reasoning throughout the project. They will culminate the project with a script for a commercial about their haunted house!

Description
There are 2 sections to this project: 1. Design the Haunted House 2. Design the Backyard.
You can assign the whole project or part of the project. The students are given the dimensions of 1 room of the Haunted House and have to choose their wall coverings, accent lighting and flooring. The calculate the area and perimeter to determine the total amount of material needed and the total cost. When they design the yard, they must partition a square given parameters and then determine the perimeter of the area. Lots of choices for the students to pick from in this project that will keep them busy for a week!
